[2013/01/24] Summernats begins with roar with Federal Tyres in Canberra, Australia
Touted as the largest car festival in the southern hemisphere, the 26th running of Summernats which holds one of Australia's most prestigious Show and Shine events from around the nation, has once again lived up to its reputation as Australia’s best place to party with high octane extreme auto action over the weekend in January.
Not only to celebrate its 3rd year as a major sponsor of the event with a bigger and better presence, Federal Tyres has also used the extremely festive occasion to support the Miss Summernats pageant as naming sponsor for the second season in a row.
The Summernats continues to prove itself as one of the biggest events in Australia by attracting huge crowd and entrant numbers, while Federal Tyres NSW team set up the “Federal Tyres Cool Off Zone” for spectators and entrants alike to come in out of the blistering heat. Hundreds of spectators took the opportunity to meet the 3 Miss Summernats finalists in the Federal Tyres Cool Off Zone and grab a signed poster or cap from the girls over the weekend.
“I think it has [the festival] turned a corner in a very positive way. Miss Summernats has become an extremely popular tradition over the long 26 year history of the festival, and we think that the girls show a lot of courage and character to get up there on stage in front of so many people.” says Mick Hart, Marketing manager for NTW – Federal Tyres NSW, ACT distributor.
“NTW (National Tyre Wholesalers) has become one of the most successful Federal dealerships in our local marketplace of Australia based overwhelmingly on their focus and profession in brand marketing and promotion.” Geoffrey Chang, Marketing manager of Federal Corp. praised our Aussie partner for long-term loyalty and trust. “Such an experience and reputation demonstrates their continued contribution to Federal as an international renowned supplier of the industry.” He commented.
Overall, Summernats 26 was an event to remember with records smashed throughout the weekend for crowd, entrant numbers and a new official Guinness World Record for the world’s biggest burnout. Federal Tyres is proud to be involved by supporting this amazing festival and we hope to continue the relationship for many years to come.
